There are several folks on here pretty strongly anti CM and some fairly strongly pro CM but I don't think we've seen a new poster with this emphatic of an opinion!

jgood...can you shed some light on the Watson fight? I had not heard this...how do you know those details and do you know any other specifics? Your posts imply intimate knowledge.

Chucks comments regarding the 5th player of his over 2 years having academic suspensions:

I hope that all of my kids can play in the NBA. I've been places where a lot of them do," Martin said. "But as of today, I don't know if I have anyone who can play at that level. If we're not holding our kids accountable and to a higher standard, then shame on us. But we're policing our kids and making sure they don't slip through the cracks. I want people to know that when we go on recruiting visits, and sit in people's homes, that we're serious about academics and this is a good example of that."

Not sure if I have anyone who can play at the NBA level:). Yeah Chuck, if you are not sure of that, we have some talent evaluation issues.
And yes, having 5 kids suspended for academic issues is a great way to start a conversation in a prospective recruits living room.

I agreed with yankee...please do not start threads with repetitive subjects. We have two Chuck must go threads already...we don't need a new one after every game.

jgood...just curious...how long have you been a Marist fan?

I've been sitting behind the Marist bench for over 25 years. Magarity had a gutter mouth too. Brady did not talk loudly enough to hear him but he used colorful language (lip reading) too.
That is not the problem. Fighting amongst the coaches is a serious problem. What other team do you know of that the coaches do not walk into the gym together. In the beginning of this season the Marist coaches did. They do not do that any more. They clearly disagree during the game.

I agree they probably all see the hand writing on the wall. I joked to my buddy that maybe the reason Martin did not reappear from the locker room after halftime until there was only a few seconds to go was because he was probably making calls to other programs looking for a job.

While the play of the players seems improved the coaching/teaching team has gotten worse. I think if the Marist administration saw even a glimmer of improvement from the adults they would give them a pass BUT I think the gig is up.
We'll, as yankee says, assess the games for the remainder of the year but my sense is we only 11 or 12 more games to go with this coaching staff.
All the decisions on Marist's part are financial at this point.

I have promised to tone down my rhetoric, and I will. I will analyze what I see and read from the coach and team and not innuendo and rumor. Now saying that, this comment by Martin just shows he just doesn't have a grasp of this team and most likely never will. This is unacceptable response. SHOW US that you have a damn plan.

"I don't know what's going on, why we can't get over the hump," said Marist head coach Chuck Martin, whose team played a markedly better second half.
